St. Patrick’s Day is quickly approaching which means it’s almost time to pull out the green and head to Hal’s St. Paddy’s Day Parade and Festival in Jackson, Mississippi! Taking place on March 18th, the parade continues an annual event that raises money for a good cause and gets people out and about. Take a stroll into Jackson and enjoy the festivities this March.
This year’s beneficiary is the Batson Children’s Hospital. If that isn’t a good enough reason to head down to the parade, we have a few more!
The annual event is celebrated in memory of Hal White, one of the founders and namesake of the parade. Born on March 13, 1949, he and his brother, Malcolm, decided they wanted to start something that was truly for the city of Jackson. In 1983, they got a permit, came up with an original idea, and ran with it. The result is the celebration that still takes place to this day!
Everyone is welcome and encouraged to take part in the festivities. See the parade, have some fantastic food, and party the night away at some of the post-parade gatherings that run into the wee hours of the morning.
We here at Blackburn CDJR hope to see you at Hal’s St. Paddy’s Day Parade and Festival on March 18th!
